psychotherapy, clinical supervision and psycho-education training.

As no Medicare rebate is available we keep our fees in line with standard
out-of-pocket expenses.
If you see a psychologist or psychiatrist or mental health social worker you
will have a mental health record.
Individuals:
- $150 for one hour session with an individual
- $190 for one hour session with couple
- $130 clinical supervision
- Groups – by arrangement

Better Access Initiative (BAI) – mental health plans
Bayside Partners is not registered under the BAI mental health plans and maintains affordable fees for clients.
What is a mental health plan?
GPs receive a fee to write mental health plans. You will be assessed with a mental health disorder that will be managed by a GP under a GP Mental Health Care Plan or a psychiatrist assessment and management plan; For more information http://www.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/content/mental-ba-fact-pat
You will only receive an average of five sessions of counselling under BAI, you will have the diagnosis of a mental health disorder and often have to pay a gap fee.
Although some psychologists have undertaken training in counselling or psychotherapy many have not. Most psychologists tend to work using an approach called CBT, which is only designed to treat specific symptoms.
Can I get a rebate?
Counselling and psychotherapy are confidential services. You are entitled to a 20% rebate for counselling sessions when you submit your tax return if your annual out of pocket medical expenses (as an individual or family) are greater than $1500.
Private health rebates for counselling/psychotherapy are available. Bayside Partners counselling is registered with Medibank Private (Family Essentials and Family Comprehensive Policies), BUPA and Australian Unity Health (Life Choice and Life Choice Plus policies with a referral letter from a GP). Other insurance companies recognise Bayside’s services.
