Sex is not restricted to the young and beautiful. It is an important part of any relationship – even if you are having one with yourself! The word conjures up different meanings often stemming from how your family viewed sexuality, sexual experiences you have enjoyed or endured and the way that sex has been treated within your social milieu over the years.
Three important factors influence your sex life. Firstly the psychological symptoms of happiness and relaxation together with a dose of good self esteem and a positive attitude are needed. Secondly, the relationship you have (even if it is with yourself!) should consist of companionship, fun, romance, security, respect, acceptance and trust. Thirdly, think situations! Allowing time, privacy, atmosphere and creating different environments will influence the satisfaction factor.
It’s good to be able to give something and receive something, it’s a way of communicating how we feel about ourselves to another person, it creates intimacy and affection, releases tension and is nurturing and comforting.
A satisfying sexual experience will make you feel good, will make your partner feel good and will create a new bond of intimacy in your relationship.
